I'm done....

I don't think I'm getting Hawke done in time for Kumoricon 2014 at the end of August....which is going to come up REALLY fast.

A part from my post on Kumoricion's Facebook page:

My arm shield I just found out needs to be cut smaller, the belt re-done-ish, the chainmaille finished, the leather pieces figured out....plus it's not the most manoeuvrable.

That arm shield just threw me over the edge. I had the damnedest time making it the first time 'round, and now I need to cut it down or re-make it smaller?

Plus, I wanted to enter into the cosplay contest and right now...she's nowhere near contest ready. I think at this point I'll just set her aside and work on her for a different con and maybe remake the armour out of foam this time instead of cardboard. I'm super proud of the armour I've got so far, but it could definitely be better with foam.

OTL I've put so much time and so much money into her so far, part of me is sick at the thought of putting a halt on the costume right now....but the other part of me needs to stop. I'm working nearly 40 hours a week these days and come home with just enough time to eat and go to bed. 
Hawke was a bit of a last minute add-in to con...so I guess it shouldn't be a surprise she's not getting done in time. But there's just so much to do it's stressing me out and I've still got Gil to fix up and my Assassin!Belle if I'm bringing her, plus I need to make a cloak for 's King Arthur cosplay (which I want to get to!, but Hawke's been consuming my off-work-hours).
I want to hang out with , but, again, Hawke's been comsuming my time.

Right now, Hawke's just not fun anymore. I think that's when I need to stop--when the construction is no longer fun.

Pardon the huge long, probably dis-coordinated rant. I'm just working on convincing myself that I'm making the right choice in stopping with Hawke for the time being.

Plus side of waiting to do her for later, right now, it's going to be difficult to move around with ease in the outfit with all my armour. If I wait and re-make it with foam, it should be a lot/bit easier to move around/lounge in. Right now I can hardly sit on the ground in the armour, go up steps, and whatnot.  Plus she's not contest ready.



........that's two cosplays I planned on doing for Kumoricon 2014 that aren't getting done: Tali'Zorah and Hawke.  
I originally wanted to enter Tali into the contest, then there was the mishap with the jumpsuit, and then I wanted to do Hawke ect...

*heavy sigh*
At least Cadence should hold together this year?

I'm just...going to go throw stuff under the bed now and go to sleep before I have to get up and get ready for work tomorrow. ^^
